If by some miracle Mike Huckabee makes it into the GOP nominee saddle, Hillary Clinton would eat him alive.

He is weak on immigration (wants tuition breaks for illegal aliens) and his record of spending and taxes is anemic compared to Romney and others. No Republican candidate can beat Clinton and win general support without a strong record on immigration and taxes. Period.

Looking only at Huck's record as governor of Arkansas, we really don't know how he would govern. Here is a quote that says it all:

Phyllis Schlafly, president of the national Eagle Forum, is even more blunt. “He destroyed the conservative movement in Arkansas, and left the Republican Party a shambles,” she says. “Yet some of the same evangelicals who sold us on George W. Bush as a ‘compassionate conservative’ are now trying to sell us on Mike Huckabee.”

A President Romney will govern as a strong conservative. In my opinion, he will be more conservative than Reagan was. Romney's #1 reputation is that he ALWAYS executes against what he plans and he always delivers every promise he makes.

Look how Romney knows details in every question he is asked. Watch Huckabee by contrast. He simply does not compare in depth or knowledge.

Brian Camenker is a Bigot
Reasons to agree

Brian Camenker: “You know it’s a little scary as to where this movement might be headed. Gay activist use a lot of the PR tactics and propaganda tactics that the Nazis used.” If Brian Camenker says this on national TV what does he say about gays when he is not on national TV?
MassResistance thinks it was wrong of Mitt Romney to hire gay people.
Mitt Romney said, "This is a subject about which people have tender emotions in part because it touches individual lives. It also has been misused by some as a means to promote intolerance and prejudice. This is a time when we must fight hate and bigotry, when we must root out prejudice , when we must learn to accept people who are different from one another. Like me, the great majority of Americans wish both to preserve the traditional definition of marriage and to oppose bias and intolerance directed towards gays and lesbians." - Governor Mitt Romney, 06-22-2004 Press Release. Brian Camenker hates Romney, because Brian sees anyone who does not have hate in their hearts for gays, as a liberal. He, like liberals and the main-stream-media, doesn't understand that conservatives appose gay marriage because we love both our parents, not because we hate gays. I love my mother and father and am very grateful that I was able to have one of each. Liberals are not bad people. They are just unable to deal with life’s realities. They are idealist who refuse to admit that the interest of the teachers unions are not always in line with the needs of children, just like the interest of gay people are not always in line with the interest of children. Wanting children to have a mother and a father is the only valid reason to appose same sex marriage. Hatred is not a valid reason.

Research Briefing: Meet The Real Brian Camenker
Friday, Jan 12, 2007

Today, The Associated Press Profiled Brian Camenker And His Attacks On Governor Romney:

Brian Camenker Is A "Conservative Gadfly" Who Has Focused On Attacking Governor Romney And His Strong Record On Conservative Issues. "Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney's political record is relatively brief – four years as Massachusetts governor and a failed campaign for the U.S. Senate. That's enough, however, for Brian Camenker, a conservative gadfly and longtime thorn in Romney's side, to write a 28-page report that portrays Romney as sympathetic to gay rights and sexual behavior that clashes with his burnished image as a defender of traditional values." (Steve LeBlanc, "Romney's Record On Gay Rights, Social Issues In Cross-Hairs," The Associated Press, 1/12/07)

-Brian Camenker Is The President Of MassResistance. (Ryan Lizza, "Urine Trouble," The New Republic, 12/25/06)

Camenker Is Not A Credible Voice And Pushes An Extreme Ideology :

The Boston Globe Noted That Camenker Is "Often Lampooned By The Local And National Media." (Matt Viser, "Interviews No Laughing Matter For Local Notables," The Boston Globe, 11/10/05)

During An Interview On Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," Camenker Was Mocked For His Extreme Ideological Views. (Matt Viser, "Interviews No Laughing Matter For Local Notables," The Boston Globe, 11/10/05)

Camenker Admits He Used To Be "A Social Liberal." "For much of my life I thought of myself as a social liberal. I voted for John Anderson for president and Michael Dukakis for governor." (Brian Camenker, "How A Good Jewish Boy Joined The 'Religious Right'," The Jewish Advocate, 12/25/96)

Camenker Has A Record Of Attacking Prominent Republicans:

In 2001, Camenker Attempted To Derail President Bush's Nomination Of Massachusetts Governor Paul Cellucci To Be Ambassador To Canada. "Brian Camenker, president of the Waltham-based Parents' Rights Coalition, privately met in Washington Thursday with about a dozen Republican staff members on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which would evaluate [Gov. Paul] Cellucci's nomination. Camenker said they were 'shocked' to hear about homosexual teachings in Massachusetts but nervous about how President Bush would receive criticism about Cellucci, who is not only his choice for ambassador but a longtime family friend." (Tina Cassidy, "Cellucci Foe Takes Case To US Senate," The Boston Globe, 3/3/01)

- The Boston Herald Praised The Cellucci Nomination And Called On Camenker To Stop His Attacks. "And surely between now and Cellucci's confirmation hearings someone will tell the increasingly shrill Brian Camenker of the Parents Rights Coalition to simply go to his room. ? But you can't reason with zealots and Camenker is a zealot. Cellucci is a good choice for the post." (Editorial, "Bush Chooses Well For Ottawa Embassy," Boston Herald, 2/14/01)

I have this same posting on my blog as well. I find it a good resource but just like when others attack Huckabee, it's normally an "out-of-context" type issue. I always believed however that Mitt was a liberal when running for MA. Senate, a Liberal when running for MA Governor, and now a RINO because he doesn't have a prayer in the world running as a Democrat.

In response to Vic Lundquist (comment #1) saying Huckabee wants to give tuition breaks for illegal aliens, that's totally inaccurate. What he said - always, was if the child was in his state's school system, graduated high school and passed AAALL state academic requirements, the same as every other state student, AND they apply for citizenship, then they should be permitted to have the same "state tuition rate" as all the other citizens.
...is that unreasonable? is that truly a tuition break? I say no: not if it's earned, and not if it's the same cost to everyone else in the state.
...Another example of an inaccurate statement - not an insult to you, just a clarification!

Huckabee Pumps Rudy in Rudy-Romney Fight
November 26, 2007 10:18 AM

ABC News’ Kevin Chupka and Teddy Davis Report: Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee waded into the Rudy-Romney fight on Monday by saying that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is going to have to learn to “take one upside the head” because former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is “an experienced fighter” who “knows how to do it.”

Huckabee also accused “Mitt” of going after “Rudy” more than “Rudy went after Mitt.”

Huckabee’s comments, which he made on a conference call with reporters, may once again fuel speculation that he is angling to be Giuliani’s running mate.

But they also reflect Huckabee’s assessment that it is Romney, who leads in Iowa and has positioned himself as a social conservative, rather than Giuliani, who is the more immediate obstacle to Huckabee’s presidential ambitions.

Over the weekend, Giuliani and Romney traded jabs over taxes, crime, immigration, abortion, and ethical standards. The sparring prompted Huckabee to say that he thanked God on Thanksgiving that he was “slicing the turkey” while his GOP rivals were “slicing each other.”
